William Phillip Sayers Sr. “Noodin” (The Wind), age 58, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on December 21, 1953 in Cass Lake the son of Phillip & Blanche Burnette Sayers.

William was formerly employed as a carpenter.

He loved being with his family and grandchildren! William enjoyed singing, Pow-Wows, laughing and having fun.

Survived by his two sons: William Sayer Jr. of Isle, Minnesota and Dale Sayers of Duluth; grandchildren: William Sayers III, Dezyre, Xavier, Jayden and Jordan Sayers; special friend & companion: Carol Jean Smith; brothers: Mark “Tony” Erickson, Phillip Sayers and Daniel Sayers; sisters: Janie Donnell, Susie Sayers, Phyllis Sayers, Joyce Sayers, Nora Sayers, Paula Sayers and June Sayers; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Phillip & Blanche Sayers and by his wife: Tammy Sayers.

Traditional Funeral Services for William P. Sayers will be held on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at The Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah, Minnesota. Officiating will be Anna Gibbs.

Interment Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, Minnesota.

An all night wake will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at Anishinabe Wakigun, 1600 East 19th Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
