Visitation Information

William Michael Neumann, age 91, of Winsted passed away on Thursday, December 25th, 2008 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
He was born on September 2, 1917 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the son of Michael & Clara Fasching Neumann.
On October 17, 1953, William M. Neumann & Frances T. Walsh were joined in holy marriage at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in St. Paul. God blessed their marriage with three sons John, Gary and David.
Bill engaged in farming in old West Winsted for many years. He also was formerly employed at Schwartz Manufacturing, Millerbernds and Sterner Lighting.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren! Bill enjoyed playing euchre, cutting wood and gardening.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and belonged to The Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court # 1054.
Survived by his loving wife of fifty five years: Frances T. Neumann; sons: John W.(Janice) Neumann of Winsted, Gary T. Neumann of Mankato and David M. (Eileen) Neumann of Lester Prairie; grandchildren: Alyssa & Zachary Neumann and Robert & Samantha Neumann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Michael & Clara Neumann, thirteen brothers and sisters including a special brother: Michael “Mick” Neumann.
A Mass of Christian Burial for William Neumann was held on Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father William A. Sprigler was the Celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation was held on Monday, December 29th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Casket Bearers were Steve Neumann, Rick Neumann, Scott Neumann, Zachary Neumann, Bob Mochinski and Steve Quast.

    I am sorry for your loss. I had the honor of working with William at St. Mary’s Care Center. He was always a pleasant gentleman. Working there will not be the same without him.
