Willard Albert “Bill” Quast, age 76, of Hollywood Township, Carver County, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2008 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

He was born on September 1, 1932 in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the son of Robert & Mary Millerbernd Quast.

Bill graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1951.

On July 1, 1967, Willard A. “Bill” Quast & Rita I. Campbell were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children.

He was formerly employed at Millerbernd Manufacturing as a maintenance supervisor for twenty years.

Bill was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and was a former church usher. Bill belonged to The Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court # 1054 and to The Knights of Columbus Council # 8253.

He loved spending time with his family! Bill enjoyed woodworking and the out of doors.

Survived by his loving wife of forty one years: Rita I. Quast; children: Kristin (Tom) Scherping of Winsted, Will (Deb) Quast of New Germany, Rose (David) Lachermeier of Winsted, Katie (Joe) Swartzer Jr. of Silver Lake, Maria Quast of Winsted and fiance Matt Field and Laura (Anthony) Laxen of Winsted; thirteen grandchildren: Jared, Shane & Raquel Scherping; Evelyn, Elizabeth and Luke Lachermeier; Alicia, Emily, Joey, Kortney & Nicholas Swartzer and Liliana & Isaiah Laxen; brothers & sisters: Marc (Betty) Quast of Walker, Mary Remer of Bloomington, Joe (Joyce) Quast of Burnsville and Diane (Jim) Campbell of Winsted; his mother-in-law: Magdalen Campbell of Mayer; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Robert & Mary Quast-Artmann, brothers: Ray Quast, Robert Quast Jr., Ernest Quast, a sister: Rose Otto, his father-in-law: James Campbell and by a brother-in-law: Andy Remer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Willard “Bill” Quast was held on Monday, December 22nd at 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father William A. Sprigler was the Celebrant and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery. The organist for the Mass was Alice Nowak.

Friends called on Monday, December 22nd from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Casket Bearers were Tom Scherping, David Lachermeier, Joe Swartzer Jr., Matt Field, Anthony Laxen and Craig Campbell.
