Wallace “Bud” Herman Scheer, age 89, of Lester Prairie passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at The Golden Living Center in Wabasso.
He was born on June 4, 1927 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the son of Herman and Katherine (Hausladen) Scheer.
He was baptized on June 19, 1927 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by Pastor A. Spleiss. He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on April 6, 1941 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Pastor E. Stahlke.
He engaged in farming for many years north of Lester Prairie.
Wallace enjoyed fishing, hunting, and also played the concertina and guitar.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Survived by nephews and nieces: Dennis (Margie) Heimerl of Plato, Doris Fritz and Darrel (Diane) Heimerl all of Cologne, Duayne (Sue) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, David (Elly) Heimerl of Kimball, Danny (Becky) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, Donna (Jim) Malee of Garden Ridge, Texas, Diane Onopa of Long Lake, Darlene (Dee) Heimerl of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Bonnie Lou Havenmeier of Cokato; other relatives and friends.
receded in death by his parents Herman & Katherine Scheer, a brother Edwin Scheer, sisters Eleanor (Erland) Guetzkow and Florence (Roman) Heimerl and by a niece Margie Haag.
Funeral services for Wallace “Bud” Scheer will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Pastor Eric Nelson will officiate.
Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Dennis Heimerl, Doris Fritz, Darrel Heimerl, Duayne Heimerl, David Heimerl and Danny Heimerl.
