Vivian Louise (LaJeunesse) Kickingbear, age 77, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2014 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. Her indian name was “Giiwedinokwe” (Northern Wind Woman) and she was of the Bear Clan.
Vivian was born to Joseph and Louise (Greeley) LaJeunesse on November 3, 1936 in Red Lake Minnnesota.
She grew up in Red Lake attending St. Mary’s Mission School and Red Lake High School. She attended nursing school in Thief River Falls, Rochester, Minnesota and in Fargo, North Dakota.
She spent many years working in the health care industry in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gallup New Mexico, Cass Lake Minnesota and Albuquerque New Mexico.
Vivian loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren, reading especially novels by James Patterson, solving puzzles, going to pow wows and casinos.
She is survived by a daughter: Helen LaJeunesse of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; sons: Edward LaJeunesse of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Phillip Kickingbear of Albuquerque New Mexico; four grandchildren: Cherisse, Robin, Phillip Jr. and Jayden Kickingbear.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, brothers: Leroy LaJeunesse and Edward M. Perkins, her aunt and uncle: Helen and Charles Holinday.
Funeral services for Vivian Kickingbear will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake, Minnesota. Father Jerry Rogers will be the Celebrant.
Spring interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, Minnesota.
An all night wake will be held on Monday, March 17th beginning at 4:00 P.M. at The Red Lake Community Center.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I’ve been looking for her and could never find her. I have good memories of Rochester, Phil and Edward. My condolences to your family.
