Vanessa Jolene Ellen Maskewit (Blacksmith)Beaulieu, age 61, of Minneapolis journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on February 22, 1959 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Gladys Irene Lufkins and Lorenzo Blacksmith.
Vanessa trained as an artist at JobCorp in Nemo, South Dakota.
She was a really great artist with a real talent. All of her art was lost in a fire, but she could take a blank page and turn it into something beautiful. She lived in Sisseton until she left home, then she lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota for many years. She was united in marriage to Robert Beaulieu, but they were separated at the time of her passing.
She loved to fish, going to amusement parks, dancing, music and going on adventures around town with her companion Don DeAngelo. Vanessa was outgoing and funny. She made everyone laugh and was a happy person. She and Don adopted a much beloved cat, Raven, the last year of her life and Raven brought them much joy.
Vanessa is survived by her companion Don DeAngelo and her beloved cat Raven; her children: Billy Joel (adopted out), Dancer DuMarce, Kody Kodah DuMarce, Anita Beaulieu and Duwayne Beaulieu; her sisters: Memoree White and Jackie Beetem and a brother Robert Beetem; uncle: John Redday Sr.; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Gladys White and Lorenzo Blacksmith, daughter Euffwa Tessa and by brothers Marvin Chap Maskewit, W. Turk White and Brian Beetem.
Funeral services for Vanessa Jolene Ellen Beaulieu will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at 12 Noon at The Long Hollow District Center. Officiating will be Time White. Interment will follow at The Long Hollow Cemetery.

All night wake will be held on Friday, January 8th beginning at 7:00 P.M.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Michelle Walking Bull, Mary Lou Thompson, Almira “Ticka” Leith, Betty Redday Dwarf, Maria Redday, Diane Flannery and Leslie Gunderson.
Casket Bearers will be Ron Redday, Bob Beetem, Mitchell Maskewit, Brett Price, Wayne Lufkins and Don DeAngelo.
