Heaven received its newest angel.
Therese Marie Ollig (nee Horejsi) passed away peacefully and gracefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, MN at the age of 88.
She is survived by a sister, Kathleen Neubarth; a brother, David (Susie) Horejsi; and her loving children, Thomas (LuAnn) Ollig, Yvonne (Charles) Selcer, Mike Ollig, Mark Ollig, Yvette (John) Hoffman; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Therese was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 32 years, John; parents, John “Jack” C. Horejsi and Cecelia M. Horejsi (nee Zeik); brother, John Jr.; sisters, Mary and Marguerite Horejsi SSND; and her daughter, Antoinette Marie Ollig.
Therese Marie Ollig was born on August 26, 1930, in Silver Lake, MN to John and Cecelia Horejsi. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
She attended grade school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Silver Lake and graduated high school from St. Angela’s Academy in Morris, IL in 1948.
She enjoyed traveling, holidays, and spending time with her family and friends.
Therese served as President of the Winsted Telephone Company, following her husband’s passing, from 1982 to 1993.
She enjoyed conversation, smiles and laughter. Therese was dedicated to her family.
She was an accomplished singer, as well as a gifted pianist and accordion player.
She was an active and dedicated member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with CCW Rosary at 5:00 PM and Parish Prayers at 6:00 PM, at Chilson Funeral Home, 200 Fairlawn Ave W, Winsted, MN. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Therese Marie Ollig will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, MN. Interment at Winsted Holy Trinity Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Father Tony Stubeda, Alice Nowak for playing the organ, Joe Holmers for his solos, the local community for their support, and the staff of St. Mary’s Care Center for their kindness and caring.
