Thelma Rose RedEagle, age 49, of Red Lake Journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at The Red Lake Hosptial.

She was born on February 11, 1963 in Red Lake the daughter of Clifford RedEagle and Verna Frog.

Thelma attended Flandreau Indian School for two years and graduated from Red Lake High School. She held several jobs while still in High School such as Dental Assistant, hands on training work at The High School Cafeteria. She also worked with funds held in Trust Management handling of per capital payments for the tribe. Thelma worked for The Red Lake Tribal Council for twenty years as a Clerk and Tribal Treasurer Secretary.

She liked helping people out, she had a good sense of humor. Her and her kids always went on outings like little mini vacations. She opened her house to people when they didn’t have no place to go. Her favorite words were “Sure Enough”

Survived by sons: Sean English, Emjay RedEagle and Novotani RedEagle/Oscar Rivera; daughters: Verna RedEagle and Misty RedEagle; sisters: Kathy Anderson, Patti RedEagle, Helen Andersen, Linda Adams; brothers: Chip Vesley and Lester Cloud; foster brothers: Chum McGraw & Valarian McGraws; five grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Verna RedEagle & Clifford RedEagle, a sister: Beverly Tait, a son: Wynzir RedEagle, foster mom: Lucille McGraw whom she loved dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma RedEagle will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in RedLake. Father Gerry Rogers will be the Celebrant.

Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.

All night wakes will be held on Saturday, February 9th and Sunday, February 10th at The Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Maysa Lussier, Shelly English, Debbie Reynolds and all of her nieces.

Casket Bearers will be Gary English, Donovan English, Chip Vesley, Dane Lyons Jr., Mark Berrett, Tyson Nelson, Jim Cobenais, Henry Donnell Jr. Alternate Casket Bearer will be Wilbur Tait.
