March 5, 1929 – May 21, 2021

Sophie Mary Juncewski, age 92, of Winsted passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Gardens at Winsted Nursing Home.

She was born on March 5, 1929 in Victor Township the daughter of Anton “Tony” & Mary (Horstmann) Fiecke.

On October 21, 1947, Sophie Fiecke and Felix L. Juncewski were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with three sons.

Sophie and Felix farmed for many years. They moved into Winsted in 1990. She was later employed at Holy Trinity Catholic School’s kitchen.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and also a member of C.C.W.

Survived by loving sons: Leonard “Lenny” (Linda) Juncewski of Winsted and David Juncewski of Silver Lake; eleven grandchildren; Alan Juncewski & Judy, Diane Wraspir & Mark, Darlene & Daryl Kiefer, Lauri & Brad Shamla, Tammi Pokornowski, Kristi & Mike Cacka, Bonni & Marcus Halverson, Kelly & Jeff Lhotka, Shelly Chloupek, Frank Chloupek & Jessica, Angie Juncewski & twenty-seven great grandchildren; four sisters: Johanna Jensen, Rosina Jilek, Mary Glampe and Emma Drahos; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Felix L. Juncewski on January 7, 2013, her parents Anton “Tony” and Mary Fiecke, a son Kenneth, daughters-in law Bernadine Juncewski, Sandra Juncewski and Lori Juncewski, great grandsons twin Shamla babies, great grandson Jacob MacDonald and by twelve siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophie Juncewski will be held on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 5-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday evening.  Further visitation will be Thursday, May 27th at the funeral home from 9:00 – 10:30- A.M.

    So sorry for your loss. Sophie was an awesome person. Donnie remembers when she use to drive him and the rest of the kids to school when there wasn’t business for the Catholic school kids. Good memories.
