I am at a loss for words. Just know you will be missed dearly. Over the past few days, I have seen your family and friends gather at your house, sharing memories and spending time on your steps. One thing is clear: you were deeply loved. Shakarra, in the short time I knew you, you were full of life and a devoted mother to your boy. Your love for him was evident in everything you did. I never saw you without a smile, and we always exchanged words whenever we crossed paths, whether leaving for the day or tending to our plants (me trying to grow grass and you nurturing your tomatoes). I wish we had more time to get to know each other better; I am sure we would have been great friends. I will miss you, neighbor.

When I think of Shakarra, I think of her radiant, beautiful smile. Her laugh. Her big, warm hugs. Her humor and ability to tell a good story. Shakarra was such a special person. So loving and powerful. She was passionate and she loved hard. I know how much her family loved her and how much she loved her family. Nothing can ever take away a love that strong. Sending my deepest condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time. I am so sorry.
