April 24, 1974 – April 4, 2023

Ryan Vernon Ide passed away on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 5:18 a.m. at the age of 48 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Ryan Vernon Ide was born on April 24, 1974, in Glencoe, Minnesota.  He was the son of Vernon and Edna (Busch) Ide.

Ryan was baptized as an infant on May 12, 1974 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, Minnesota by Pastor Harold A. Bode. He was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 1, 1988 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota by Paster Steven C. Vaudt. His confirmation verse was Habakkuk 3: 18-19a.

He received his education through the 8th grade at Lester Prairie Public School before attending Glencoe High School until graduation in 1992.

On July 26, 2014, Ryan was united in marriage to Julie Ann Kohls by Pastor Daniel Welch at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, MN.  Ryan and Julie made their home on the Ide Family Farm, north of Glencoe, Minnesota.  Their marriage was blessed with one child, George Ryan Busch Ide.

Farming was Ryan’s life.  He was always thinking of ways to improve his farm and hoping to carry on the legacy to his son, George.

Ryan was larger than life. He loved family gatherings and spending time with friends. Ryan enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Disney World, and Hawaii.  Ryan loved riding his motorcycle, 4-wheeler, jet ski, and any kind of tractor as long as it was a Case.  His other hobbies included Deer Hunting, collecting riffles, and butchering and processing his own meat.  He looked forward to his weekends up at Brainerd International Raceway volunteering with the CRA.  Ryan loved his community and was proud to be serving as the Township Supervisor for Bergen Township.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Julie Ide of Glencoe, MN; a son, George Ide of Glencoe, MN; sisters, Teresa (Jeff) Brelje of Glencoe, MN and  Faye (Curtis II) Anderson of Bemidji, MN;  father-and mother-in-law, Craig and Rosalind Kohls of St. Cloud, MN; sisters-in-law, Katherine (Michael) Meyer of Victorvile, CA and Christine (Travis) Bonovsky of Brooklyn Center, MN; Nieces & Nephews:  Ariel, Austin, Curtis III, Rory, Elizabeth, Emily, and Andrew

Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Edna Ide.

In lieu of flowers, Ryan has asked a donation be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church elevator fund in Lester Prairie.
