FURTHER VISITATION WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 19TH AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
Rosemary Stifter, age 72, completed her journey to eternal life on Sunday morning, October 13, 2013, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota. She was born July 14, 1941 in Winsted Township, Minnesota near Lester Prairie to Leonard and Mildred (Deidrick) Bisping. On August 19, 1961, she married Gerard Stifter at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Five children were born to this union, John (Donna), Michael (special friend Cindy Scherping), Thomas (special friend Gloria Hertel), Barbara (Robert) Tovsen and Eugene (Sue). In addition to the children above, she is survived by her husband Gerard, grandchildren Christopher, Brandon (special friend Rochelle Buerman), Ashley and Lexi Stifter; Adam Stifter; Kayla Stifter (special friend Josh Kern); and Andrew and Alyssa Tovsen, and one great granddaughter, Finley Kern. She is also survived by a sister Sharon (Don) Humlicek and a brother Jerry (Carol) Bisping. Also surviving are aunts, Marie Schmitt, Bea Bisping and Ruth Deidrick. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leonard and Mildred Bisping , and numerous uncles and aunts.
Rosemary, a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, was active in church and community activities. At Holy Trinity, she was involved as a school board member, CCW secretary and volunteer, communion distributor and as a Winstock and parish dinner auction volunteer. In the community, she served as election judge, Meals on Wheels delivery, St. Mary’s hospital auxiliary volunteer, manager of St. Mary’s Gift Shop, AARP driver safety class coordinator, and volunteer at the McLeod County Historical Society. Rosemary had many interests, including gardening, (especially flower shopping with Barb), card playing (especially bridge), visiting casinos, camping, fishing, travel, family history, cooking and entertaining family and friends, and attending sporting and school events of children and grandchildren.
As a business woman, she owned and operated Galaxy of Gifts with Georgine Enger for several years. For the last ten years, she assisted Gerard in his CPA practice as office manager, receptionist, bookkeeper and tax preparer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Winsted. Interment follows at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Pall bearers are 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Christopher, Brandon, Ashley and Adam Stifter and Andrew Tovsen. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday evening and on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Serving the family is the Chilson Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear about your loss of wife and mother. The obituary lists all the numerous jobs and volunteer activities that Rosemary did. She certainly sounded like she was a wonderful person that gave to her family and community. Again, so sorry to hear about your loss.
