Rose Mary Mallak, age 81, of Lester Prairie passed away on Monday, August 4th, 2014 at the Glencoe Long Term Care facility.

She was born on September 28, 1932 in Hutchinson the daughter of Tony & Mary Horstmann Fiecke.

On October 1, 1955, Rose M. Fiecke and Arthur F. Mallak were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Rose and Arthur Sr. farmed for twenty five years 1 ½ miles North of Silver Lake. She was a caregiver to her husband while he was ill with A.L.S. She owned and operated Rose’s Café in Silver Lake after Art’s passing. Rose also worked at Jonio’s Restaurant while living in Lester Prairie.

She enjoyed playing bingo, word searches, watching “Gun Smoke” and watching wrestling, baking cookies and visiting with people.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Survived by a son: Tom (Cindi) Mallak of Lester Prairie; a daughter: Linda (Kent) Leske of Lacey, Washington; a daughter-in-law: Ann Mallak of Lester Prairie; a son-in-law: Loren Boll of Litchfield; grandchildren: Tamara(Matt) Snegosky, Mike Boll, Brandon Leske and Allison Leske; great grandchild: Sara Mae Snegosky; brothers and sisters; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Arthur Mallak Sr., eldest daughter: Kathy Boll, a second son: Arthur T. Mallak and by a granddaughter: Sara Mallak. Also, many other siblings and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Mallak will be held on Friday, August 8th, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher will be the Celebrant.

Inurnment St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Silver Lake.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th from 4-8 P.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, August 8th at the Church one hour prior to Mass.

Honorary Urn Bearers will be her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake is serving the family.
