Rose “Babe” Otto, age 97, of Winsted died Saturday, March 6th 2010 at St. Mary’s Care Center. She was born west of Winsted, McLeod County, on April 7th, 1912, the daughter of Mike and Elizabeth Brose Fasching.
On September 5th 1933, Rose was joined in holy marriage to Joseph W. Otto at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with five children. “Babe” was a faithful, life-long member of Holy Trinity. She also belonged to The St. Anne’s Society and Holy Family Council # 204.
She formerly worked sixteen years in the laundry department at St. Mary’s Hospital. “Babe” enjoyed flowers, embroidering, and visiting with people. She touched many lives!
Survived by children: Jeanette (Jim) Coursey of Lakewood Colorado, Donald (Lucille) Otto of Champlin, Clayton (Mary) Otto of New Hope, David (Anna) Otto of Shakopee and Linda (John) Kowalsky of Prior Lake; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband Joseph W. Otto in 1987, her parents and by twelve brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose “Babe” Otto will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 10th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Fr. Tony Hesse will be the Celebrant and internment follows at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, March 9th at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted 5-7 P.M. Prayer service 7 P.M. Further visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, March 10th 9-10 A.M.
