July 12, 1960-December 20, 2021

Randy Duane Weibel, age 61, flew from his wife’s arms into Jesus’s arms while he was surrounded by loved ones on Monday, December 20th, 2021, in his rural Waverly home, overlooking his parents’ beautiful farm at sunrise.

He was born on July 12, 1960, in Winsted, the devoted son of Duane G. and Jane V. (Barfnecht) Weibel.

Randy Duane Weibel and Rhonda Jean Schroeder were married by Pastor Dave Hormann on February 21, 2021, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted, where Randy was a lifelong member. He was baptised July 31, 1960, and confirmed on May 19, 1974.

Randy was a dairy farmer in his early years, first with his parents, then drove truck (as a “relocation specialist”) for over 20 years and knew the roads around the country so well that his friends and colleagues called him “Rand McNally.” He retired from MedTrans in 2021, where he concluded his career as a dispatcher.

Randy – ever the witty conversationalist – always had a clever joke at the ready, and he tremendously enjoyed pretending he didn’t like Rhonda’s cats. He loved spending his time with and cooking/grilling for his family and friends, listening to live music, fixing small engines, working in his vegetable garden, enjoying the sights and sounds of North Shore loons, bowling, and volunteering for his church and Winstock. He was able to fulfill his lifelong wish to take a cruise to Alaska.

Randy is survived by his loving wife: Rhonda Schroeder; daughters: Melissa (Shannon) Forcier and Amanda Weibel (Joe Robben); the mother of his children: Diane Weibel; step children: Michael Brueggeman and Stephanie (Erik) Anderson; grandchildren: Tanner, Olivia, Owen, & Alexis Forcier and Silas & Gabriel “Gabe” Weibel; siblings: Robin Weibel, Renee (Mike) Salonek, and Ron (Bobbie) Weibel; as well as many other beloved relatives and dear, caring friends.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Duane G. Weibel on July 27, 2014, and Jane V. (Barfnecht) Weibel on July 3, 2014.

A Memorial Service for Randy Duane Weibel will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.   Pastor Dave Hormann will officiate. Inurnment will follow at The Winsted Public Cemetery. Urn Bearers will be Melissa Forcier and Amanda Weibel.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 26th from 2-5 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Further visitation will be held on Monday, December 27th at the church at 10 A.M.
