Phyllis Wilson, age 65, of Lake Traverse journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at The Wheaton Community Hospital.
She was born on February 28, 1942 in Havana, North Dakota the daughter of Jonah & Elizabeth Goodboy Wilson. Phyllis was formerly employed as a nurse’s aide at Browns Valley Health Care Center, V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis and at Summit Manor in St. Paul. She enjoyed being with her sisters, having her grandchildren over, doing puzzles, attending Pow-Wows, family picnics at Lake Traverse and listening to George Jones music.
Survived by her children: Lydia Wilson of New Hope, Minnesota, Gail Wilson of Osceola, Iowa, Dana Wilson (Tony Huntington) of Sisseton, South Dakota, Stacey Azure (Val Azure) of New Effington, South Dakota, Bradley Nord of Peever, South Dakota and Amy Trevino (Wade Trevino) also of Peever, South Dakota; thirty eight grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren; sisters and a brother: Mary Esther Wilson of Browns Valley, Minnesota, Twin sister: Joanne Wilson of Browns Valley, Minnesota, Nancy Wilson of Watertown, South Dakota and Clifford Harris of Sisseton, South Dakota; eight nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents: Jonah & Elizabeth, two brothers: infant Wilson and Phillip Wilson, three sisters: Josephine Musil, Lydia Wilson and Germaine Wilson, a niece and by four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Phyllis Wilson will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 10:00 A.M. at The Community Center in Agency Village, South Dakota. Filmore E. Simon, CLP will officiate and Pastor Morgan Redday, Sr. will officiate.
Interment will follow at Goodwill Presbyterian Cemetery in Agency Village, South Dakota.
An all night wake will begin on Friday, December 21st at 7:00 P.M. at The Community Center in Agency Village. Honorary Casket Bearers: Browns Valley Nursing Home Staff, Doris Yankton, Maxine Renville, Rhonda Wilson, Jane Barse, Phedora Wilson and Phyllis Roberts.
Casket Bearers: Jerome Renville, Tony Huntington, Val Azure, Rick Renville, Ray Wilson, Louis “Pete” Musil and Elrond Johnson. Pianist for the funeral service was Billy Kohl.
