June 18, 1931 – June 16, 2021

Paul Vincent Quast, age 89 plus two days to age 90, of Winsted passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born on June 18, 1931 in Winsted the son of August & Anna (Neumann) Quast.

Paul was baptized and confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army during the Korean War.

On September 8, 1956, Paul V. Quast and Bonita I. “Bonnie” Ketcher were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.   God blessed their marriage with seven children.

Paul owned Quast Transfer Inc. in Winsted for his entire life.

He was a life, long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of nearly sixty-five years: Bonnie I. Quast; children: Mike Quast of Winsted, Shelly (Terry) Jorgensen of Buffalo,  Melody (John) Hintzen of Chaska, Tammy (Larry) Vealetzek of Winsted, Staci (Greg) Revering of Montrose and Jodi Gilyard of Buffalo; daughter-in-law: Carol Quast;   fifteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers: Clarence (Elaine) Quast, Bernard  (Margie) Quast and Ray (Millie) Quast; sisters: Irene Rozeske , Marian Moy, Laurina Zajicek, Jeanette Stock, Rose Lindenberger, Dianne Smith, Lois Gohring and Josephine Hagstrom; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his son Jeffery Richard Quast, two grandsons Josh and Braeden, his parents, siblings Leander, Joseph, Marcella, Elizabeth, Donna Mae, Caroline and Celina.

A Memorial Service for Paul V. Quast will be held on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.   Pastor Dave Hormann will officiate.  Military rites will be held at the church by American Legion Post #407.   Organist for the service is Kay Knutson and the soloist will be Bruce Gatz.

A Time of gathering will be held on Saturday, June 26th from 1:00-4:00 P.M. AT THE CHURCH.

Inurnment will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Winsted.

Urn Bearer will be Mike Quast.

    Bonnie, Mike, Tammy and everyone else. Pam and I were saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. We have many fond memories of Paul and we happily recall all the great times we had working at Quast. We truly were one big family! We pray y’all find comfort knowing he lived a full life and is now having a wonderful time with Jeff and everyone else who left before him. Blessed be his memory.
