Paul Pierre Marie Laubignat (Chef Paul) age 66
We are bidding farewell to Paul who passed on Thursday August 16, 2018. A celebration of Paul’s Life will be held Saturday August 25 from 12:30 to 3:00 at his home 4610 Highway 25, Watertown MN 55388.
Paul grew up on a small Island, Ile de Noirmoutier, in France with his loving parents and 8 brothers. Paul left home at the age of 12 years to become a Chef Apprentice for L’Hotel Sofitel. It was with Sofitel that Paul was able to come to the US in his early 20s. Paul worked in Minneapolis, (La Tortue, Raddison Plaza, Chez Paul and Paul’s Brasserie) Hawaii, Chicago and Milwaukee, finally ending up in Waconia MN at Nancy’s Landing Restaurant which was his family’s business. Paul can be remembered at his famed Sunday Brunch Omelet bar.
Paul loved to entertain and was always the Life of the party. He touched many lives and was loved by all who knew him.
Paul is preceded in death by his loving parents Jean and Marie (Mimi) Laubignat, his brothers Michael Laubignat and Jean Pierre Laubignat.
Paul is survived by his spouse Laura Anderson; his children Corbett Laubignat and partner Ashley Groshek; Etienne Laubignat and wife Angela Schmidt-Laubignat; Ex-wife Nancy Bucklin-Laubignat; Brothers Louis Laubignat (Christiane); Dominique Laubignat (Nicole); Joel Laubignat (Anne Marie); Philippe Laubignat (Chantal); Francois Laubignat (Dominique); and Pascal Laubignat; Brothers in-law Christopher Anderson (Anna); Matthew Anderson; Mother in-law Nancy E Anderson, nieces Alena, Audrey and Zoie;
God Daughter Anne Laure Laubignat and his many nieces and nephews in France.
In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Paul’s name.
