Nicolle Camelia Feather, “Sunktokecanajiwin” (Spirit Wolf Woman), age 16 of Peever, SD, Journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, December 10, 2018. She was born September 18, 2002, the daughter of Theodore Paul and Crystal Camelia (Ross) Feather.

Nicolle was in the 10th grade at Tiospa Zina Wambdi Tribal School where she was involved with the Dakota culture and language and even signed up for football in the 7th grade.

Nicolle was very active with Vacation Bible School since 2008 with First Baptist Church in Sisseton SD and Manhattan Mission Church in Manhattan NY with Pastor David Choi and Pastor Milton “Nippy” Owen. She had a big heart for others and enjoyed helping others and cheering up her friends. She also enjoyed photography –taking pictures and editing, playing basketball, kickball and volleyball, going on walks, fishing, baking, drawing and painting, and listening to music.

Nicolle is an 8th generation descendent of Chief Simon Anawangmani.

She is preceded in death by her infant brother, Wambdi Okiya; grandmother, Dorothy Peshlakai; great-grandmothers, Jenny Cole, Ethel Simon Ross Max; uncle, Joey Yankton Jr., cousin, Ashlynne Mike; and numerous others on both sides of the families.

Nicolle is survived by her parents, Ted and Crystal Feather; siblings, Theodore Paul Feather Jr., Xavier Dante Feather, Lilly Rain Feather, Dorothy Gail Feather, Jessa Jane Feather, Jacob James Owen, Nikki Abraham, Elexis Ortly, Winter Laughter, Nano Littlebird, Jordyn Jade Feather; grandparents, John Ross, Patricia Gail Feather, Levi DuMarce Sr.; great-grandparents, Reverend Michael L. Simon, Filmore and Christina Simon, Barbara Simon Mail, JoAnn Gill; special friend, Braylon Barse; and many many other loving family and friends.

A wake service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Sisseton-Wahpeton Community Center – Old Agency Village, SD. A second wake service will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Tiospa Zina Wambdi Tribal School. An all night wake service will begin on Saturday, December 15, 2018 beginning at 7:00 PM at the Sisseton-Wahpeton Community Center – Old Agency Village, SD until time of services on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Interment at Long Hollow Presbyterian Cemetery.
