Nathanial W. Long, age 32, of Welch, Minnesota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Friday, March 6th, 2015.
He was born on August 28, 1982 in Gallup, New Mexico the son of Edison Long and Bonnie Rencountre.
Nathanial was employed as a laborer for several construction companies.
He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, traveling, spending time with family and fixing things.
Survived by his wife: Traci Walker; children: Nathanial Long Jr. and Natalia Long both of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; four step children: Michael Carlson, Tiffany Walker, Victoria Carlson and Joshua Walker; his father: Edison Long of Casamero Lake, New Mexico; his mother: Bonnie Rencountre of Enemy Swim; grandmother: Geraldine Rencountre of Enemy Swim; sisters: Pam Long of Grants, New Mexico, Robin Long of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Charla Rencountre of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Crystal Rencountre of Enemy Swim, South Dakota, Rose Rencountre of Enemy Swim, South Dakota, Rebekah Long of Grants, New Mexico, Lindsey Torino of Brookings, South Dakota and Jennifer Rondell of Enemy Swim, South Dakota; brothers: Isaac Long of Ogden, Utah, John Long of Peever, South Dakota, Jared Long of Sisseton, South Dakota, Skylar Long of Brookings, South Dakota, Evan Long of Enemy Swim, South Dakota. Douglas Rencountre of Enemy Swim, South Dakota and Jesse Rondell of Enemy Swim, South Dakota; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by a brother: Michael Paul Rencountre, paternal grandparents: Mary Cleveland and John Long, maternal grandfather: Douglas Rencountre and maternal great grandmother: Florence Bluedog Christenson.
Funeral services for Nathanial W. Long will be held on Thursday, March 12th, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at The Enemy Swim Community Center. Delbert (Roly) Hopkins will officiate. Drum Group will be “Dakota Nation”. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery in Waubay, South Dakota.
All night wakes will be held on Tuesday, March 10th and Wednesday, March 11th beginning at 7:00 P.M. at The Enemy Swim Community Center.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Michael W. Carlson, Michael B. Carlson, Steve Owen, Jeremy Owen, , Larry Rencountre and Levi Hopkins.
Casket Bearers will be John Long, Jared Long, Skylar Long, Evan Long, Douglas Rencountre, Jesse Rondell, Barry Rockwood and Chris Fayant.
