Myron H. Michaletz, age 83 of Glencoe, MN passed away on Jan 15, 2015 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Jan 18, 2015 at 2 PM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glencoe, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment First Lutheran Cemetery, Glencoe, MN.

Myron was born on March 16, 1931 in Bergen Township, McLeod County, MN to William & Lydia (Ehrke) Michaletz. He was baptized in 1931 & confirmed in 1944 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, MN. He attended country school & St Peter parochial school before attending & graduating from Glencoe High School class of 1949. He married Vila Dahlke on February 28, 1959 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Myron was an insurance agent for 35 years & served on the board of directors for Young America Mutual Insurance Co. He was a lifelong dairy farmer, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed watching sports on TV. He loved to listen to old time music & enjoyed reading. He used his gator to check on things around the farm.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vila, brother, Rueben, sisters, Grace, Evelyn & infant sister, Georgianna.

Survived by his three sons, Mark Michaletz of Glencoe, Joel (Dawn) Michaletz of Litchfield, MN & Gary Michaletz of Glencoe, MN; grandchildren, Miranda & Elijah Michaletz; sister, Marlene (Ray) Nelson of Litchfield, MN.

Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, MN assisted the family with arrangements.

    Mark, I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. He always made me smile when he would come into the Fahey complex. He had a zest and I appreciated that. Prayers to you and the family.
