Visitation Information

Sophia A. Ziebarth, age 99, of Winsted passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
She was born on October 31, 1909 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the daughter of Lawrence E. & Mary T. Bayerl Kegler.
Sophia graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1924.
On October 21, 1930, Sophia A. Kegler & George B. Ziebarth were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three sons.
Sophia was formerly employed at the Winsted Theatre for twenty years and also for twenty years at St. Mary’s Hospital & Nursing Home. She formerly worked at Rouf’s Brothers Groceries and at Green Giant Canning too.
Sophia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and flowers.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and belonged to C.C.W.
Loving mother of Clayton (Alice) Ziebarth of Plymouth, Melvin (Joann) Ziebarth of Minneapolis and Kenneth Ziebarth of Winsted; seven grandchildren & six great grandchildren; a sister: Magdalen Bebo of Silver Lake; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by husband: George B. Ziebarth in 1951, her parents: Lawrence E. & Mary Kegler, two brothers: Bill and Alfred Kegler & three sisters: Agnes Schermann, Loretta Moy and Leone Zachmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophia Ziebarth was held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 9th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father William A. Sprigler was the Celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation was held on Monday, December 8th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A C.C.W. Rosary was recited at 4:30 P.M.
Casket Bearers were Steve, Jim, Jake, Eric and Darin Ziebarth and Wade Krinke.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
