Monica M. Remer, age 72, of Waverly passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and children on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home.

She was born on October 17, 1940 in Silver Lake, the daughter of Bernard “Bennie” & Margaret (Nowak) Reznick, VanAllen.

On July 11, 1959, Monica M. Reznick and Arnold L. Remer were joined in holy marriage at The Cathedral in St. Paul. God blessed their marriage with five children.
Monica loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed her dogs. She enjoyed fishing, planting flowers, gardening, listening to polka & old-time music and feeding the squirrels & birds.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly and its serving circle.

Survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years: Arnold L. “Arnie” Remer; four children: Debbie (Dave) Cartwright of Silver Lake, Gilbert Remer (Pat Lindquist) of Waverly, Tina (Roger) Gravelle of Montrose and Sheldon Remer (Barb Dircz) of Howard Lake; grandchildren: Jacob & Nikki Forcier, Tiffany (Mark) Torkelson, Amanda Goulet, Ryan, Brandon & Tara Gravelle and Savannah Remer; great grandchildren: Courtnie, Jack, Isaac & Dylan Forcier, Brooke Mercado, Kaleb Torkelson and Audrianna Wold; a sister: Sandy (John) Bennett of Brooklyn Park; a brother: Johnny (Peggy) VanAllen of Delano; and special friend: Doug DeMarais of Waverly.

Preceded in death by a son: Arnold E. “Arnie”Remer Jr. in 1979, step great grandson: Tyler, her parents: Bernard “Bennie” Reznick and Margaret (Reznick) VanAllen, father-in-law & mother-in-law: Steve & Florence Remer and by other loving relatives.

She is so loved by family & friends; her hugs and smiles have touched many people.
No words can describe how greatly she will be missed, but
she will live on forever in our hearts!

A Mass of Christian Burial for Monica Remer will be held on Friday, February 8th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the Celebrant. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7th from 4-8 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, February 8th one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers will be Gilbert Remer, Sheldon Remer, Roger Gravelle, David Cartwright, Jacob Forcier, Ryan Gravelle and Brandon Gravelle.
