Marie Magdalen Kieser, age 93, of Winsted died Saturday, August 11th, 2007 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born on July 19, 1914 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the daughter of Frank H. & Mary Millerbernd Schermann.
Marie graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Winsted in 1932.
On November 9, 1948, Marie M. Schermann and John V. Kieser were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Marie was formerly employed at Fred Lhotka Photography, Keating Hardware for 11 1/2 years and as a postal clerk at the Winsted Post Office for 25 years.
She has lived her entire life in the Winsted area and was a faithful, lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Marie also belonged to The St. Anne’s Society and V.F.W. Post # 9232’s Auxiliary.
Survived by a sister: Veronica Bergermann of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: John V. “Jack” Kieser in 1958, her parents: Frank H. & Mary Schermann and by eight brother and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Kieser was held on Tuesday, August 14th at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father William A. Sprigler was the Celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.
Friends called on Monday, August 13th from 12:30-1:30 P.M. at St. Mary’s Care Center and from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Parish Prayer Service was held at 4:00 P.M., an American Legion Auxiliary ritual at 6:30 P.M. and a St. Anne’s Rosary was recited at 7:00 P.M.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Marie’s God children: Raymond Schermann, Alyssa Krause and Terre Krause.
Casket Bearers were Marty Schermann, Dennis Kappel, Daniel Kappel, Felix Stifter, Bill Krause and Norbert Schermann.
