Mabel M Lacina, age 96, of Winsted passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.

She was born on November 3, 1921 in Crookston, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert S. and Louise (Fenske)Thelen.

Mabel was Baptized, made her first Communion and was Confirmed at St. Luke Catholic Church in Clearwater, Minnesota.

On April 1st, 1939, Marvin W. Lacina and Mabel Thelen were joined in Holy marriage in Buffalo, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Mabel was formally employed at Green Giant (seasonal) and at Edco, Inc. for 24 years as a seamstress (1960-1984).

She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. She belonged to the C.C.W.

Mabel loved her family and was always there for them! She was a wonderful caring mother and grandmother. Mabel was always concerned for others.

She was very talented in sewing Barbie doll clothes for her grandkids, crocheting afghans and making doilies. Mabel always had a beautiful garden, yard and flowering plants. She also was a long time collector of vases and dolls.

Survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Albert (Judy) Lacina; a daughter: Carol Kallenbach all of Winsted; grandchildren: Craig (Kate) Kallenbach of Fairmont, Rob (Joy) Kallenbach of Independence, Dawn Kallenbach (Jeff Wisuri) of New Hope, Karen (Joe) Sousa of Milbank, SD, Leanne (Ronald) Hertzog, Julie (John) Stapel and Jamie Rainwater (Joshua Schroeder Fiance) all of Winsted and David (Kristi) Lacina of Lester Prairie; great grandchildren: Jacob and Nathan Kallenbach, Jennifer, Kayla, and Kyle Kallenbach, Sophia Wisuri, Mikayla Sousa and Fiance Samuel Fonder, Zachary and Isaac Sousa, Connor Hertzog, Alexis and Cody Stapel, Dakota and Aiden Rainwater, Hailey and Rebecca Lacina; Brothers: Albert V. Thelen of Independence, KY, Ray (Darlene) Thelen of Lake Havasu, AZ and Leon (Karen) Thelen of Sauk Rapids, Mn; sister-in-law: Marion Lacina of Buffalo, MN.; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Albert S. & Louise Thelen; her husband: Marvin W. Lacina; son-in-law: Roger F. Kallenbach; sister: Pearl Adelman; brothers: Melvin and Earl Thelen.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mabel Lacina will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Visitation will be held Monday morning, February 19th at the Church 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Father Paul Schumacher will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Winsted, Minnesota.

Casket bearers will Craig Kallenbach, Rob Kallenbach, David Lacina, Jacob Kallenbach, Nathan Kallenbach, John Stapel

    I was sad to hear of Aunt Mabel’s death. Such a full life that generation experienced. Have fond memories of our visits to Winsted those Sunday afternoons. Love to all from Ruth Ann
