February 2, 1928 – December 8, 2023

 

Lorraine Verona Kohler, age 95, of Winsted passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

She was born on February 2, 1928 in New Germany the daughter of Herbert & Verona (Wischnack) Briesemeister.

On December 18, 1947, Lorraine V. Briesemeister and Benjamin H. Kohler were joined in holy marriage at the Rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.    God blessed their marriage with three children.

Lorriane was formerly employed at Dueber’s in Winsted.

She enjoyed bowling when she was younger, reading, gardening, baseball games, playing cards and watching the birds.

She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Survived by her children: Lyle (Faith) Kohler of Maple Grove, Douglas (Donna) Kohler of Winsted and Karen Westrup of Cokato; grandchildren: Amy (Gary), John (Venessa), Ben (Melissa) and Elizabeth; Marc (Erin) and Gregg (Jess); Sarah (Steve), Mathew (Ren) and Breanna (Brandon); great grandchildren: Jake, Anthony, Ashley, Adiena, Andrew, Lincoln and Harper; Isabel, Hazel, Elliott, Sophie and Frankie; Mitchel, Grace, Mason and Lars; 1/2 sisters: Lavonne Guenigsman and Leana (Clifford) Guennigsmann; a sister-in-law: Elaine Briesemeister; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Kohler, her parents, a son-in-law Kenneth “Ken” Westrup, a grandson Nathan “Nate” Westrup, a brother Vernon Briesemeister, a ½ sister Donna Hermann, a ½ brother David Briesemeister, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 6 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted.  A Memorial Service for Lorraine Kohler will be held on Satuday, January 6th at 1:30 PM at the Chilson Funeral Home.
