Lorene Alice Otto, age 82, of Winsted passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on February 2, 1928 in Burnstown Township, Brown County, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur & Lillian Dorow Richert.
On September 3, 1950, Gordon W. Otto & Lorene A. Richert were joined in holy marriage at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall. God blessed their marriage with three daughters: Janet, Kathleen & Patricia.
Lorene was formerly employed as chief operator at Northwestern Bell in Marshall. She also worked in admitting at St. Mary’s Hospital and worked in the office at Mid-America Dairyman, formerly Pure Milk Products, where she retired in 1990.
Lorene and her husband Gordon owned and operated Otto’s Jewelry Store in Winsted from 1956 until 1983.
Lorene was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. She was involved with various activities through the years at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.
Survived by loving daughters: Janet (Raymond) Cardinal of Waverly, Kathleen (Allan) Uecker & Patricia (Aaron) Kubasch all of Winsted; grandchildren: Jeremy (Chris) Cardinal, John (Kristy) Cardinal and Jesse Cardinal, Alyssa (Chad) Meger & Michael Uecker, Amanda & Brooke Kubasch; great grandchildren: Austin Uecker, Anastasia and Olivia Cardinal, Paige and Ella Meger and Ryan and Lauren Cardinal; and by a sister: Doris (Verlin) Dahmes of Alexandria; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Otto on March 20, 2006; her parents, Arthur & Lillian Richert; brother, Martin Richert and his wife Josephine; her father-in-law & mother-in law, William W. & Elsie I. Otto; and her brother-in-law, Donald Otto and his wife Mary.
Funeral Services for Lorene Otto will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 9th at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. The Reverend Michael Nirva & The Reverend Martin T. Schoenfeld will officiate. Interment will follow at Winsted Public Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8th from 4-7 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.
