Loren Dale Fairbanks, age 38 of Bemidji, Minnesota journeyed to the Spirit World on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
He was born on January 24, 1974 in Redlake the son of Gordon Fairbanks Sr. and Lorna Schoenborn-Fairbanks.
Loren loved to laugh and joke around, especially with his coworkers and teammates.
He enjoyed playing softball and golf as well as traveling, listening to pow wow music, fishing, and playing games online.
Loren was a coach at Red Lake Schools for many years. He loved working with and coaching kids.
He touched many lives while coaching football, girls basketball and girls softball.
He was happiest when he was out on the lake with his best friend Ron or out golfing with his wife Sara and their kids, Sam and Drew.
One of his favorite things to do was to stop and try $20 at the casino.
He loved all his kids, grandkids, siblings, extended family, family-in-law, friends, coworkers, and his wife very much.
He will be greatly missed by all!
Loren was employed as a Security Guard at The Red Lake Schools.
Survived by his wife: Sara; children: Drew, Sam and Jerrell Fairbanks, Shaleigh Beaulieu, Jaleigha, Jerika and Jessica Brown; grandchildren: Casey, Ashton and Jaiden Brown; a brother: Gordon (Crystal) Fairbanks; sisters: Crystal (Myron) Cobenais and Daisy (Floyd) Fairbanks of Redby; uncles: Duane (Trina) Fairbanks, Herman Fairbanks, Adrian (Gloria) Fairbanks, William Fairbanks and Ron Fairbanks; aunts: Charlene (Sonny) Johnson, Joyce Batdorf and Christine (Maurice) Thunder; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Gordon & Lorna Fairbanks, a brother: Donovan “Sam” Schoenborn, grandparents: Harry & Viola Fairbanks, Maggie Jackson and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services for Loren Fairbanks will be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 1:00 P.M. at Redlake Humanities Center. Pastor Paul Straubel of Redby Community Church will officiate.
Interment Redby Community Cemetery.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 9:00 A.M. until time of services at Redlake Humanities Center.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Ron Perkins, Darren King, April Barrett, Red Lake Schools Security Guards, Irene McGraw, Mary Ellen Cook, Duane Bebeau, Redlake Bombers Teammates, Wendi Fairbanks, Mark Oshie, JR Graves, Nate Hulbert, Georgianna Spears, Tammy Johnson, Denise Rosebear, Kenny Graves, Andy Zawacki and Rob Pemberton Sr., Wendy Pemberton, Nolan Desjarlait, Jan Droulliard, Gerald Kingbird Sr., Verdell Beaulieu Sr., Bruce Goodwin, Bobby Joe Barrett, Kendall Kingbird, Tyson Nelson, Justin Jourdain and all the people who helped search.
Active Casket Bearers: Mack Kingbird, Ira Schoenborn, Rod Jackson, Chris Ellis, Roman Brown, Bill Brown, Martin Wind, Arn Pemberton, Sonnie Cobenais, Donovan Cobenais, Ian Lussier, Julian Lussier and Kyle Fairbanks.
A dinner will follow at The Humanities Center following services at the cemetery.

My prayers and condolences go out to the family of Loren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
We wish our condolences to Loren and family, I know your a good neej to my boy i thank you for that he heard about you leaving and he didn’t feel well after that like everyone else. Me and my crew did everything we could to find you alive and well my neej … but that’s the way it is from up above.. Until Core and I get to shake your hand again, journey safe Neeji, smile ace for the ones who will greet you. They’re the best.
I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to Loren’s family at this difficult time. I got to know Loren playing golf with him over the years. I enjoyed his friendship and awesome sense of humor. He will be missed, there is no doubt about that. The Great Spirit just received a good man. Take care and God bless. R.I.P.
Those of us who not only knew Loren but had a chance to work with him during his high school years and since, will greatly miss the quick and ready smile and the friendliness he always displayed. We are so very sorry for your loss. Ray and Barb Brown
I was so sad to hear of Loren’s death. It made my heart sick. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by our practice. I would have come to the service but was in Owatonna last week. Please call if you need anything.
