Lola June Gay, age 68, of Granite Falls, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at The Centra Care Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
She was born on January 5, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Lola was married to Michael Gay. He preceded her in death.
Lola was formerly employed as a beverage server at Prairies Edge Casino.
She enjoyed walking, fishing, The Minnesota Vikings, going to the casino and to the Dairy Queen with her granddaughter. She also liked spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. Lola liked to debate subjects. She enjoyed helping others.
Survived by three sons: Gerald (Heather) Gerdes, Jacob Carroll and Jermaine Carroll; two granddaughters: Kayla Gerdes and Andrea Lola June Gerdes (unborn second granddaughter of Gerald & Heather Gerdes); a brother: David Carroll and by a sister: Sharron Carroll; Ruby Mulligan & family, Debbie Johnson, Shana Ellingboe & kids and Tiger Reigstad; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Lola was preceded in death by her parents. A sister: Kathline Carroll and by a brother: Bruce Carroll.
Funeral services for Lola Gay will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00 A.M. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Carmany will officiate. The organist for the funeral service will be Joan Lundell. Congregational hymns will be “This Is My Father’s World”, “Jesus Loves Me” and “I Love To Tell The Story”. Interment will follow at Doncaster Cemetery in Granite Falls.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jermaine Carroll, James Stavne Sr., Gerald Gerdes Sr. and all her family and friends.
Casket Bearers will be Vinnie Mulligan, Joe Fast Horse, Jacob Carroll, Shawn Jensvold, James Stavne Jr. and Tiger Reigstad.
