LoisAnn Linda Schmitz, age 78, born on July 16, 1936, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by her husband: Paul Schmitz, parents: Hugo and Irene Klaustermeier and a brother: Harlen Klaustermeier.

Survived by three children: Fred Ross (Jeri) of Oak Harbor, Washington, Gene Ross Jr. (Jan) of Greenville, South Carolina and Carmella Viebrock (Tom) of Dresser, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren: Fredrick James Ross, William Ross, Crystal Schroeder, Jennifer Lemon, Lucas Ross, David Hoffmann Jr. and Catherine Kraemer; and by seven great grandchildren.

Lois will be greatly missed by family and many friends!

Lois loved to quilt for other people and family. She would set up her quilting frame and in a week or two they were done. All stitching was done by hand. Her biggest achievement was helping Brenda and Mike Merriman with four quilts for The Oak Ridge Boys. She talked a long time about this project.

A Mass of Christian Burial for LoisAnn Schmitz will be held on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher and Reverend Bill Baldwin will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19th from 4-7 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, February 20th from 9-10 A.M. at the funeral home.

Casket Bearers will be Gary Dietel, Paul Christensen, Rodger Kirchhoff, Lucas Ross, John Klaustermeier and David Hoffmann Jr.

    I wish to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Lois. I have known her as a patient for 20 years and she was always so kind. We talked a lot about family and mutual friends. May God bless her with eternal life in heaven.
