Leila Irene (Patrick) Norman, age 90, of Winsted passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Mary’s Care Center.

Irene was born to William Andrew and Mary Geneva (Barbour) Patrick on October 12, 1922 in Billingsley, Alabama.

Irene married Kenneth J. Norman in the chapel of Fort Benning, Georgia on February 27, 1943. God blessed their marriage with three sons and two daughters.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching the Minnesota Twins and spending time with her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.

Survived by loving sons: Gary (Annette), Richard “Dick” (Nancy) and William “Bill” (Sharon); daughters: Carol Norman, and Barb (Brad) Schlagel; grandsons Todd, Chad (Terrese), Jeff (Erin), Patrick (Jody), Michelle (friend Brian), Chris, Troy (Emily), Tim (Colleen), Julie, Ryan (Shelly), Neil (Susie) Schlagel, Jacob (Rachel) Schlagel, sixteen great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, a brother: William A. (Betty) Patrick, a sister: Marie Nicholson, a brother-in-law: Larry Gumbinner, best friend Jeanne Norman and friend Mike, a sister-in-law: Mae Patrick, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers: Norman Patrick, Horace Patrick, Morace Patrick and Carl Patrick; sisters: Hilda Gumbinner and Chrystal Marchman, sisters-in-law: Mattie Lee Patrick, Opal Patrick and Margie Patrick, brothers-in-law: Bob Marchman and Cecil Nicholson, four nephews and one niece.

Funeral services for Leila Irene Norman will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winsted, MN. Pastor Mark Loder will officiate.
Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery, Winsted.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted from 4-8 P.M. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday, April 22nd at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Pat Norman, Chad Norman, Neil Schlagel, Troy Norman, Michelle Norman and Julie Norman.

Casket Bearers will be grandsons Jeff Norman, Tim Norman, Chris Norman, Jacob Schlagel, Ryan Norman and Todd Norman.
