LaZayvein Ulysses Whiting-Hill entered this world on a stormy day in October 28, 2022; LaZayvein loved spending his time with his parents, bouncing, laughing, playing and listening to music.  His favorite song was “Can’t Stand Still” by AC/DC. LaZayvein was a happy spirit, he was a blessing to be around, and he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.  There will not be a day that goes by that he won’t be missed.

LaZayvein made his journey to the spirit world on April 21, 2023.  He is survived by his parents: Duane and Della (Whiting) Derby; siblings: Jasmine Egan, Ayonna Egan, Venaya Whiting, Edison Whiting, Bella Hunsucker, Shane Hill, Ryland Hill, and Quentin Hill. He has one living grandma, Deanna Anderson; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

LaZayvein is preceded in death by his Grandmother: Lynnette DuMarce, Grandpa Winfred Feather, Mavis Hill, Janse Hill, and great Grandmother: Verna Donner.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 7:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Sisseton, South Dakota.

An all-night visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Sisseton, South Dakota.

A funeral service for LaZaywein will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Sisseton, South Dakota.

Filmore Simon will officiate.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dean DuMarce, Mary Kypan, Linda Cantu, Deanna Anderson, Kim Young, Cody DuMarce, Bruce DuMarce, Delton Egan Sr., Wesley LaBlanc, Wade DuMarce, Rose Rodlund, Dustie DeMarrias, Angela Cook, Aron Hill, Shanna Keoke, Lenore Little Ghost, Jerome Palacio.

Casket Bearers will be Kennard-Kerwin Larson, Harlan DuMarce, Delton Egan Jr., Joseph Egan, Duane Derby

Interment will take place at the Mayasan Presbyterian Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota.
