L. Marian Remer, age 91, of Waverly passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Haven Homes of Maple Plain.
She was born on September 14, 1927, in Winsted, the daughter of Carl A. & Lucy K. (Wirtz) Thiemann.
Marian graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1945.
On October 12, 1948, Marian Thiemann and Clemens N. Remer were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with fourteen children.
She was formerly employed at Tonka Toys in Mound for eleven years and as a dietary aide at New Beginnings in Waverly for twenty nine years.
Marian enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, going to the lake (Alexandria and Hill City), and spending time with family.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
Survived by children: David C. (Nancy) Remer of Montrose, Michael L. Remer of Cokato, Douglas A. (Diane) Remer of Howard Lake, Sandra C. Remer of Minneapolis, Roger J. (Carol) Remer of Waverly, Heidi B. (Michael) Potter of Albertville, Natalie A. (Mark) Richman of New Jersey, Darren J. (Kris) Remer of Howard Lake, Tamara L. Ellis (Seth) of Mound and Lynette S. (Jerome) Williamson of Waverly; twenty four grandchildren; sixteen great grand children; a brother: Jerome Thiemann of Winsted; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death her husband on October 24th, 1980, children James Remer, infant twin girls and Bradley Remer, her parents, by her sister Arlene Stotts, grandson Anthony Ellis, and son-in-law Tom Otto.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Remer will be held on Friday, October 5th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, October 4th from 4-8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. Further visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning, October 5th from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass.
Casket Bearers will be grandchildren.
