July 13, 1953 – May 23, 2021

Kenneth George “Kenny” Marketon, age 67, of Howard Lake passed away on Sunday evening, May 23rd, 2021 at The Good Samaritan Society of Howard Lake.

He was born on July 13, 1953 in Buffalo the son of George J. & Jean (Linquist) Marketon.

Ken graduated from Howard Lake-Waverly High School in 1971.

On June 20, 1981, Kenneth G. Marketon and Colleen Klinkner were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Catholic Church in Searles, Minnesota.  God blessed their marriage with three children Angela, Kari and Tim.

Ken engaged in hog and crop farming for many years in Middleville Township, Wright County.

He loved farming!   Ken belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, Knights of Columbus and to The Wright County Pork Producers.   He also was a member of a 500 Card Club and the Un-Bowling group.

Ken enjoyed traveling, playing cards and fishing.

He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren.   Each grandchild was special to “Grandpa Kenny”.

Survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years: Colleen; children: Angela (David) Tauer of Hanska, Kari (Jason) Gardner of Elma, Iowa and Tim (Laura) Marketon of Lake Crystal; grandchildren: Ruby & Adam; Gabbie , Amelia & Violet; Ella & Kaysen; siblings: LuJean (Larry) Starke of North Mankato, Virginia (Ken) Wandersee of Buffalo and Robert (Annette) Marketon of Howard Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Kenneth Klinkner of Hanska, Patrick Klinkner and Beverly (Peter) Hoffman all of New Ulm and Diane (Patrick) Wimmer of St. Cloud; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles further survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Everett & Beatrice Klinkner and by a granddaughter Hope Angela Tauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth “Kenny” Marketon will be held on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.   Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26th from 4-8 P.M. AT THE CHURCH.  Further visitation Thursday morning, May 27th 9:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Neal Glessing, Don Marketon, George Bakeberg, Greg Bakeberg, Ron Broll, John Rassat and “Grandpa Kenny’s” grandchildren.

Casket Bearers will be David Starke, Jeremy Kadlec, Jayson Klinkner, Mike Hoffman, Tyler and Nate Gruenhagen.
