Kenneth A. “Kenny” Kohler, age 84, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

He was born November 24, 1925,on a farm in Winsted Township, McLeod County, MN, the son of Edward and Mathilda “Tillie” Artmann Kohler.

Kenny was joined in holy matrimony to Delores C. Helmbrecht on June 22, 1948, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Kenny was a councilman of Winsted 10 years, and then served as mayor from 1972-1974. He was employed at Lester’s Incorporated as a territory manager from August 1949 until he retired in January of 1991.

Ken enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener. He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Kenny and Delores were summer residents of Longville, MN, for over thirty years.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years: Dolores C. Kohler; six children: Phyllis Dukhorn of Winsted, Renee (David) Neese of Monticello, MN., Paulette Kohler of Glencoe, MN, Kevin (Nina) Kohler of Longville, Carolyn Kohler of Sacramento, CA, and Brenda (Ken) Sterling of Cameron Park, CA; eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren; two sisters: Clara Ernhart of Winsted and Eileen Krattenmaker of Aurora, IL; and one brother: Raymond Kohler of Hawaii; sisters-in-law: Lorraine Kohler of Winsted, and Millie Kohler of Chanhassen, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Tillie Kohler; brothers: Benjamin and Eugene; sister-in-law: Joyce Kohler; brothers-in-law: Leo Krattenmaker and Ambrose Ernhart; and by son-in-law: Doug Dukhorn.

A Memorial Mass for Ken Kohler was held on Tuesday, July 6th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.

    I’m really going to miss you, dad!
    I was just remembering the time you and I went fishing out in Muskie Bay and the fog settled in around us…..that was Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
