John Samuel Hill Sr., age 68, of Sisseton, South Dakota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, December 17, 2012 at The Kindred Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
He was born on May 8, 1944 in Sisseton, South Dakota the son of Samuel Hill and Martha Barker.
He graduated from The Flandreau Indian School.
John honorably served his Country in The United States Navy.
He lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Los Angeles, California for many years. John later moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he met his wife.
John worked at The Salvation Army as a truck driver and then at Hennepin County Detox for many years.
After his wife passed away, he moved back to Sisseton, South Dakota.
He was a firm believer in the Lord!
John’s favorite pastime was watching his favorite team The San Francisco 49ers among other teams, playing bingo and being with family.
We as his family will miss him dearly. Just knowing he is free of pain and with his wife: Laura Weyous Hill, mother:Martha Hill, father:Sam Hill, sisters: Evangeline Lesko, Darlene Hill, Kay Hill, Olivia Palacio and Janice Hill; brothers: Wilbert Hill, Rueben Hill and Dan Fish is our comfort.
Survived by a son: John Hill Jr.; a daughter: Anasia Johnson; five grandchildren and a great grandchild; three sisters: Mavis Hill, Christine Hill and Richanda Hill; many other relatives and friends.
