Visitation Information

John Joseph Lueck, age 74, of Winsted passed away on Saturday, May 28th, 2011 at The Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska.

He was born on March 15, 1937 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the son of Bernard J. & Julia A. Kegler Lueck.

John graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1956 and later attended Butcher’s School in Toledo, Ohio.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army.

On January 20, 1968, John J. Lueck and Charlene H. Weinbeck were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with five children.

John had formerly owned and operated Roufs Meat Market and The Winsted Meat Market. He later was employed at Lester’s, Inc.

John was a past Mayor and Councilman of The City of Winsted.

John loved his donuts!

Survived by his loving wife of forty three years: Charlene; five children: Dottie Kaye of Savage, Bernie (Karen) Lueck of Winsted, Dawn Lueck of Tampa, Florida, Jackie Lueck of Winsted and Kyla Lueck of Watertown; six grandchildren: Anthony Lueck, Kayta Herring, Amelia Lueck, Sam Lueck, River Imholtz and Shepard Imholtz; twenty seven foster children; sisters: Marcia Haugan of Mendota Heights and Afra Roufs of Winsted; a sister in law and a brother in law: Alice Lueck of Glencoe and Ardner “Red” Fasching of St. Louis Park; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Bernard & Julia Lueck, an infant brother: Michael, a brother: Wilbert Lueck and and by a sister: Mary Ann Fasching.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John Lueck will be held on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Tony Hesse will be the Celebrant. Interment with military rites Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 30th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. An American Legion Ritual will be held on Monday evening at 6:45 P.M., a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. and Parish Prayers will be held at 7:30 P.M.

Chilson Funeral Home of Winsted, MN is proud to have served the family.

Casket Bearers will be Jerome Roufs, Willie Roufs, Eddy Roufs, Fran Roufs, Alan Roufs, Gregg Guider, John Guider Jr. and Steve Roufs.

    Charlene and family; I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but do know John is in a better place with no suffering, pain and sadness. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself.

    When I worked the early morning shift at Casey’s while working through college, John was one of my favorite customers. Coffee and donuts. Great guy and he’ll be missed. My condolences to his family.
