Lumbar, John David, age 52, of Minneapolis, journeyed to the spirit world on January 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Lumbar Sr., his brother Charles Lumbar Jr., and most recently, his mother Ethel Lumbar. He is survived by his brother Steve (Peggy Scott-Lumbar) Lumbar, sisters Reva Lumbar and Theresa (Don) Eischens, 13 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. Other survivors include the brothers he chose, Mark Jacobs (Andrea Rugg) Jeff Leyendecker, Mike Bellanger Curt Roeder and Dan Miller. A celebration of his life will begin on Tuesday January 13, 2015 from 5p.m. – 10 p.m. with a memorial service on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 12 noon at CHURCH OF GITCHITWAA KATERI. 3045 Park Ave.

I met John in junior high and played basketball on the same team. We were soon close friends and stayed that way for many years. The year we graduated high school, John and I headed out west and spent 2 weeks in a tent touring National parks. You get to know someone real good in close quarters. John was a good man with a great sense of humor. I have many good memories of him and will hold those close to my heart. Our sincerest condolences. Keith LeClaire and Family.
