John Charles Kitto Donahue, age 54 of DeGraff, Minnesota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Saint Cloud Hospital in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. He was born on May 8, 1970 in Sisseton, South Dakota the son of Daniel Churchhill and Deborah Kitto. He was raised by Mel Ellis and adopted by Dan Donahue.

He had five children he loved dearly, Dakota, Dannon, Dylan, Arianna and Xavier. He always talked about his kids; he was such a proud father. Nothing was more important to him than being a father. John had a very close relationship with his sister, Shenandoah, and brother, David. He would tell stories about braiding his sister’s long hair and stories of his “Baby Huey”. When John turned 18, he met his Churchhill family and moved to Mille Lacs to meet the rest of his Ojibwe family, there he met his brothers: Jayson, Justin and Ryan.

John loved the Minnesota Vikings almost as much as he loved golfing, nothing stopped him from watching the Vikings. Now, golf was another story, from the time he was young until the week before he passed, he was golfing. He learned to golf from his grandpa Ellis. Grandpa Ellis bought John his first set of golf clubs when he was around 12 or 13.

I miss you so much John. A part of me has been ripped out. Each day I promise to laugh because of you. You have been one of my best friends but most importantly you are my brother.
