Jeffrey Jay Max Sr. “Hanpa Pena Wicasta”, age 57, of Sisseton Journeyed to the Spirit World on August 17, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on August 29, 1965 in Sisseton the son of Vincent Max Sr. and Virginia (Johnson) Max
Jeffrey was employed by Tribal Roads as the office manager for many years.
He enjoyed moccasin games, listening to music, drawing, he also loved his cats, watching sports on T.V. and especially The Philadelphia Eagles games.
He is survived by: a daughter: Estelle Feather; four grandchildren; two sisters: Denise Max (Felix) Renville and Arlys Max; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Max Jr., his parents Vincent Max Sr., Virginia Max, a sister Collette Max, brothers Vincent Max Jr. and Travis Max Sr., a niece Victoria Max and a nephew Travis Max Jr.
Funeral services for Jeffrey Max Sr. will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at The Sisseton Wahpeton-Oyate Community Center in Old Agency Village, South Dakota. Robert Gill will officiate.
Drum Group will be All singers invited.
Interment will follow at Wambdi Hde Ska Cemetery in Eden, South Dakota.
All night wakes will be held on Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, Augst 22nd at The Sisseton Wahpeton-Oyate Community Center in Old Agency Village, South Dakota. Also we invite all moccasin players to come out play moccasin after services.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be All Moccasin Players and all friends.
Casket Bearers will be Felix Renville III, Jerrad Max, Josh Max, Jace Max, Cullen Max, Inyahan Max, Quintin Abbey, Jeremy Taylor, Kaden Renville and Julian Max.
