Visitation Information

Our brother was Jeffrey Cochran, he like all of us, was born at the I.H.S. in Sisseton, South Dakota. Our parents were Gary & Roberta Cochran. Our family moved to Flandreau in 1973. Jeff attended school in Flandreau and at The Marty Indian School.

Our brother was a great cowboy! He loved to be outside. He never slowed down, and he could not enter a building where he wasn’t known. He was a man of many stories and adventures. Many friends to list. Everyone loved him because he loved them too. He was our protector, our back, he was always there. He will be greatly missed!

He was only 44 at the time he journeyed to the Spirit World and he is now with Dad and his son Marshall. Survived by his daughters: Jennifer Deon, Danielle Deon, Traci Cochran and Rhea Cochran; three grandchildren: Madison, Bradley and Briceson; his mother: Roberta Cochran; brothers: Gary Cochran Jr., Joseph Cochran and James Cochran; sisters: Juanita Wakeman and Roxanne Cochran; a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father: Gary Cochran Sr., his son: Jeffrey Marshall Allen and by a niece Danielle Lee Budack.

Funeral Services for Jeffrey Cochran will be held on Friday, July 20th at 2:00 P.M. at The Eastman Hall in Flandreau, South Dakota. Reverend Ronald K. McKinney will officiate. Interment will follow at The First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Flandreau.

An all night wake will begin at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 19th at The Eastman Hall.

FAMILY…OF THIS GREAT MAN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IM MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. WHEN MY SISTER CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE HORRIBLE NEWS…I WAS IN UTTER SHOCK AND DISBELIEF AND INSTANTLY I FELT PART OF MY HEART GONE. JEFF WAS A BEST FRIEND AND BIG BROTHER FOR 24 YEARS. WHENEVER I FELT SAD OR DEPRESSED I WOULD THINK OF JEFF AND INSTANTLY MY MOOD WOULD CHANGE. I DONT THINK ANYONE COULD FEEL SAD WHEN THEY THOUGHT OF JEFF SMILING, JOKING, LAUGHING, AND ALWAYS HAPPY. JEFF WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A TREMENDOUS UPLIFTING SPIRIT. HE WAS LOVED BY SOOOO MANY PEOPLE AND HE WILL DEFINITELY BE MISSED GREATLY. HE TOUCHED SO MANY LIVES AND I KNOW EACH AND EVERYONE OF US HAVE HAPPY MEMORIES OF JEFF.
TAKE CARE & GOD BLESS, CINDY EARLEY
