I just wanted to say that I will love and miss you always, Uncle Jarrod. You always were one of my favorite people because you have the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. I’m going to miss you telling me that I was your favorite niece and hearing all your crazy jokes. My heart is very heavy right now because you’re gone and the only thing that’s helping me make it through each day is knowing that you are in a better place. A place where there is no more hurt, anger or tears.

    I love you Uncle Jarrod!

I was deeply saddened to read of your passing so far from home, alone, and I imagine scared, threatened to death in the dark by strangers. Rest assured that many of us appreciate your kind and generous Spirit when the call went out for help to do an unexpected job in service to the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate. Whether it was to assume extra duties of an absent fellow employee, or manning the Get Out The Native Vote table at night and week-ends, or helping set up and facilitate a huge tribal event, you did so tirelessly and in a smiling, soft-spoken manner that encouraged others to do likewise. Rest in peace and thanks for being a friend during difficult times.
