All Night Wake

James William SilverWolf Dennison was born on February 17, 1958 to his mother Fay BlueCloud Dano and father James Dennison, Sr. He grew up with his brothers, Darren Dennison, Reuben Dano and sisters, Cynthia Dennison and Tanya Dano in Sunnyvale, CA. He was raised between his stepfather, Gabriel Dano and father, Jim Dennison and who both instilled in him his strong ethics such as work and a sense of doing right by others. With these ethics he taught the youth around him and even though his exterior was rough he made friends through his wisdom and mutual respect of those that believed in the same ethics as he did. He was also saved.

Jim was proud of his country and served in the military in the Army division, his service was a long and tough road.

Jim’s family and friends knew him to be naturally talented in all forms of art, even though he thought it was something anyone could do, his natural ability to create was profound. Through his pencil and ink drawings he created beautiful pieces of art that were used as T-shirt prints and tattoos. He also created Native art which included bead work, leather work, medicine bag creations, jewelry and more. As an artist he was truly gifted.

Jim had a heart. He would do things for people that were unexpected but welcome without expectations. His love of animals was huge. He loved cats and would rescue them and nurse them back to health.

He is survived by his mother Fay Dano, stepfather- Gabriel Dano, father- Jim Dennison Sr., brothers- Darren Dennison, Reuben Dano, Sisters- Cynthia Dennison, Tanya Murphy his nephew Thomas Jandomon, nieces Melissa,Sarah Atchison and Ina Marie Murphy in addition to all the relatives he reconnected with when moving back to Sisseton.

My son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend… We love you and will miss you dearly.
