I was sorry to hear of uncle Jim’s passing. I feel grateful that I was able to see and talk to him at Jerry’s cabin on July 4,2018. RIP Uncle Jim.

I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting the Hertel family in 1964, as a classmate of Jerry Hertel (my future best man) nad of Jane Campbell (nee Hertel) of the College of St. Benedict’s. I (and my wife Pam) would see Jim during his years at St. John’s, before I graduated in 1968. As has always been the case with the entire family, a thoroughly nice and upstanding individual, who did his growing family proud, I’m sure.

    May he rest in peace.
