Jackie moved out to California to attend Art School, there she had met her husband, Billy Coon and they moved back to Sisseton. There they started their family of four children. In 1988, she divorced and met her long time good friend Lawrence Wynde Jr.
Jackie had numerous jobs; transportation and kitchen with I.H.S. She also worked with Mayasan ladies doing star quilts by hand. Then she became self-employed and opened Pee Wee’s Day Care which was in operation for 20+ years.
While Jackie was taking care of children, she also attended her children’s games and events. She served on TZTS school board and Human Service Board. She also was an elder at Mayasan church and attended many Dakota Presbytery mission meetings and supervised at youth mission meetings.
Jackie was great at sports, she played softball for Mayasan team and bowled on many bowling leagues but under A&C Variety was her #1 team. She also enjoyed cooking (she was well known for her fry bread), driving and traveling. Those who traveled with her, know this when she liked to share her stories of growing up. She enjoyed listening to the oldies, watching western movies and loved decorating for each holiday and season. Jackie was a hard, devoted, caring and loving woman. She will be greatly missed.
