Helen B. Laxen, age 98, of Winsted passed away early Sunday morning, June 7th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Care Center.

She was born on May 25, 1917 in Winsted the daughter of Clemens and Anna (Quast) Kegler.

On June 1, 1946, Helen B. Kegler and Alois Laxen were joined in holy marriage at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, MN. God blessed their marriage with four sons.

She enjoyed her vegetable garden and flowers, especially her geraniums. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Helen also belonged to the C.C.W and St. Anne’s Society.

Survived by her loving sons: Stephen (LouAnn) Laxen of Winsted and Dave (Pam Fisher) Laxen of Silver Lake; a daughter-in-law: Charlotte Laxen of Winsted; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Irene Kegler; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Alois Laxen, an infant son William, a son James C. Laxen, a grandson Michael J. Laxen, her parents Clemens & Anna Kegler, a brother Leonard Kegler, a sister Marie Grzeskowiak and by an infant sister Margaret Kegler.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Laxen was held on Wednesday, June 10th at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher was the Celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

A visitation was held on Wednesday morning, June 10th from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Casket Bearers were grandchildren: Jeremy Laxen, Emily Morisset, Anthony Laxen, Kim Issendorf, Matt Laxen and Turner Laxen.

Reader was granddaughter Ava Laxen.

Gift Bearers were great-grandchildren Nick Laxen, Liliana Laxen and Isaiah Laxen.

Communion Distributor was Patty Fleischacker.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
