Harold James “Pete” Weibel, age 81, of Pillager, Minnesota formerly of Winsted, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at his residence.
Born and raised in Winsted, Minnesota the son of Paul & Ellen Weibel.
At age 17 Pete joined the Navy and served from 1945-1949. His tour took to him Florida, California, Guantanamo Bay and North Africa. Pete claimed they liked him so well they asked him to return in 1950 and he served into 1954.
Pete met his wife Muriel in 1954,they started dating in 1956 and were married on Sept.13 1958. God blessed their Marriage with six children.
Carpentry/Construction was his passion in life following in his fathers footsteps. He was a life member of the Carpenters Union Local #1644. He was a life member of the VFW Post 9232 and a member of Legion Post #407 in Winsted, where he previously served as Commander. He also served as a Justice of the Peace.
Moving to Pillager in 2000 he became active with the Sylvan Township Road Board and being elected to Road Supervisor he served from 2004-2008.
Pete will be remembered for his heart of gold. He is gone, but not forgotten, he will live on in our hearts. Ride free Dad.
Survived by Loving Wife: Muriel, children Claude-Winsted; Eileen(Dave)Neumann-Lester Prairie; Harold Jr.(Denise)-Annandale; Shelly(Larry)Carroll-Alaska; Brett(Sherri)-Waconia. Grandchildren Jennifer,Cassandra, Michael Hughes; Robert,Samantha Neumann; Madelyn,Katie Weibel; James,Samuel Carroll; Jadyn,Griffin Weibel and two Great Grandchildren. Also four brothers and one sister and numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceded by parents, Paul & Ellen Weibel; son, Scott. Brothers & Sisters Claude, Jeannette Moonen, Earl, George, Floyd, Stan and Ruth & husband Carl Noreen.
A Memorial Service for Pete Weibel was held at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Sunday July, 26 2009 at 4:00 P.M. Services were conducted by his sons Claude, Harold & Brett Weibel. Private interment with military rites Winsted Public Cemetery.
Friends called at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Sunday, July 26th from 2-4:00 P.M.
Honorary Pallbearers were Greg, Dan, Jon Weibel and Griffin Weibel and Robert Neumann.

I am filled with sadness over the loss of such a genuinely kind & caring man. He lovingly stepped in as my “2nd Dad” during High School for which I am ever grateful. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
