Harold B. Kegler, age 89, of Brooklyn Park passed away on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
He was born on December 25, 1927 in Winsted the son of Albert A. & Anna M. (Zimmerman) Kegler.
Harold honorably served his Country in the United States Navy from 1945-1948. He was a WWII veteran.
On May 28, 1955, Harold B. Kegler and Eleanor M. “Ellie” Haekenkamp were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with four daughters.
Harold was formerly employed at Holsum Bakery for twenty-eight years, Red Owl Bakery for eleven years and retired with Super Valu in 1989.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, word searches, Nascar races, camping at Keg’s Korner and deer-looking with family, playing cribbage and wine making.
Harold was a member of The American Legion Post #172 in Osseo.
Survived by his four loving daughters and their families: Carol Ann Romes and sons Jonathan and Andrew of Hobart, Indiana, Colleen Kegler (Bruce Burkowske) of Winsted, Maryellen (Todd) Anderson and children Laura, Dylan and Mikayla of Champlin and Nancy (David) Harrison and sons Nathaniel, Christian and Michael of Preston; brothers: Leon (Marilyn) Kegler of Babbitt, Robert Kegler and Steven Kegler both of Winsted; six sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Ellie, his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Hubert and Eleanore Haekenkamp, a sister Eileen Wright, a brother Ray Kegler, six brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold B. Kegler will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery with military rites.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, December 1st from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
Casket Bearers will be his eight grandchildren: Jonathan & Andrew Romes, Laura, Dylan and Mikayla Anderson and Nathaniel, Christian and Michael Harrison.
