Gloria White Mouse, age 82, entered the spirit world on Tuesday, May 10, at Mid-Dakota Hospital, in Chamberlain, SD.
Gloria was born on June 29, 1928, to Mary (Rose Elk) and Silas Ross, Sr in Old Fort Thompson, SD. She was a member of The Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.
Gloria enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and going to the native PowWows.
She is survived by her husband Wilmer White Mouse, Jr; sons: Antoine Medicine Crow, Sr, Ronald Kim Drapeau, Sr, Frank Drapeau, Richard Ross and Gary Ross, Sr.; daughters: Mildred Ross, Karen Ross, Candace World Turner Bishop, and Christine Medicine Crow; brothers: Lloyd Ross, Sr, Spencer Ross and Ken Ross; sister: Illa Long Crow; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Alphonso Drapeau, Jr, Harold Wayne Drapeau, Sr and Walter Medicine Crow, Jr and brothers: Silas Ross, Jr, Leroy Ross, Sr and Joseph Comes Flying, Jr.
All night wake services will be held on Wednesday, May 11 and Thursday, May 12 beginning at 8:00 P.M. at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
Funeral services for Gloria White Mouse will be held on Friday, May 13th at 2:00 P.M. at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. Interment will be held at the Episcopal Cemetery in Fort Thompson.
Honory Casket Bearers will be Theresa Red Bear, Maxine Grassrope, Ruth Walking Bull, Ethel Spider, Bernadine Gingway, “Willie” Janis, Vicki Shields, Kate Ratliff, Jeannie Eagle, Lana Steele, Clara Shields, John Jones, Sr and Shelly Paynter, and Roxanne Sazue.
Casket Bearers will be Keith Drapeau, Ronald Kim Drapeau, Jr, Adrian Medicine Crow, Jesse Drapeau, Jeremy Heron, Tommy Loudner, Keenan World Turner, Justin Drapeau, Ben Jr and Jakon.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, Minnesota is serving the family.
