Gertrude C. “Trudy” Remer, age 74, of Winsted passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born on December 2, 1944 in Watertown the daughter of Alfons J. & Isabelle M. (Habisch) Wiemiller.
Trudy married Charles J. Remer on October 27, 1962. God blessed their marriage with five children.
Family was so important to Trudy! She enjoyed traveling, gardening, canning and Christmas. Through the years, Trudy babysat many children. She also volunteered at The Worn a Bit shop and at Winstock.
She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Survived by loving husband: Charles J. “Chuck” Remer; children: Lori (Dave) Gailey, Joe (Wendy) Remer, Craig (Shari) Remer all of Winsted, Vicki (Mike) Thonvold of Cokato and Dean (Kristin) Remer of Woodbury; 13 grandchildren; siblings: Tom (Mary) Wiemiller, LaMae Engel all of Winsted and Jack (Mary) Wiemiller of Maricopa, Arizona; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Alfons J. & Isabelle M. (Habisch) Wiemiller.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Trudy Remer will be held on Monday, January 7th, 2019 at 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Tony Stubeda will be the Celebrant.
Lavon Kielkucki will be the organist for the Mass.
Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6th from 2-6 P.M. at the funeral home. C.C.W Rosary 5:30 P.M. and Parish Prayers 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6th at the funeral home. Further visitation Monday, January 7th at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Honorary Casket Bearer will be Ryan Gailey.
Casket Bearers will be Jared Gailey, Joshua Remer, Justin Remer, Matthew Remer, Chad Engel and David Wiemiller.
